Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MyWPBackups collects, uses, stores, protects, and shares information when you use our websites, applications, WordPress plugin, backup services, recovery tools, storage, support, and related services.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect account information, contact information, billing information, authentication data, organization and site information, support communications, usage records, audit logs, device and browser information, IP addresses, cookies or similar identifiers, payment status, and service configuration data.
When you connect a WordPress site, backups may include website files, database contents, uploads, themes, plugins, configuration files, logs, private media, user records, comments, form submissions, order data, customer data, API keys, credentials, password hashes, and other information present on your site. The exact data depends on your WordPress installation, plugins, theme, content, settings, and exclusions.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to provide, operate, secure, monitor, troubleshoot, bill, support, improve, and communicate about the service. This includes creating accounts, pairing sites, scheduling and processing backups, storing recovery points, enabling restores and downloads, sending alerts, enforcing plan limits, preventing abuse, responding to support requests, complying with legal obligations, and protecting the service and users.
3. Backups and Site Data
WordPress backups may contain sensitive personal information and confidential business information. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights and notices required to transmit your site data to MyWPBackups. You should not connect sites containing data that you are not legally permitted to store, copy, process, transmit, or restore through our service.
To operate backups and enforce service limits, we may process backup metadata such as file paths, file sizes, file counts, content hashes, skipped-file counts, storage object references, timestamps, backup status, and error messages. This metadata may be shown in account dashboards, health reports, administrative tools, alerts, and support workflows.
4. Payment Information
Payments may be processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe. We may receive payment status, customer identifiers, subscription identifiers, plan information, billing email, and transaction metadata. We do not intend to store full payment card numbers on our own systems.
5. Cookies and Sessions
We use cookies and similar technologies for login sessions, security, account operation, fraud prevention, preferences, analytics, and service performance. You may control cookies through your browser, but disabling some cookies may prevent account features from working.
6. How We Share Information
We may share information with service providers, payment processors, infrastructure providers, storage providers, email providers, support tools, security vendors, professional advisors, legal authorities, business transferees, and others when necessary to operate the service, enforce our terms, protect rights and safety, comply with law, or complete a transaction you request.
We do not sell your backup contents. We do not use your backup contents for advertising profiles.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and operational safeguards designed to protect information. These may include access controls, encryption, scoped credentials, logging, monitoring, and separation of account data from backup object storage. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, availability, or protection against every unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
8. Retention and Deletion
We retain account, billing, support, audit, backup, and site data as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and maintain business records. Backup retention depends on your plan, settings, payment status, deletion requests, delayed-deletion rules, and operational requirements. Some data may remain in logs, backups, archives, or records for a limited period after deletion from active systems.
9. Your Choices
You may access, update, export, or request deletion of certain account information by using available account tools or contacting us. Some requests may be limited by security, legal, billing, fraud prevention, backup integrity, or operational requirements. If you ask us to delete data, we may need to verify your identity and authority over the account or site.
10. International Processing
Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where we or our providers operate. By using the service, you understand that information may be transferred to jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your location.
11. Children's Privacy
The service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. You may not use the service to store or process unlawful material involving minors.
12. Prohibited Data and Content
You may not use MyWPBackups to store, back up, transmit, restore, or process illegal content, illegal pornographic content, non-consensual intimate material, infringing copyrighted content, malware, phishing kits, stolen data, or other prohibited content described in our Terms of Service. Accounts violating this policy may be terminated immediately and reported where appropriate.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated. Continued use of the service after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
